Senior Radio Frequency Engineer – RF Design & Integration

About the role

Axon is looking for a senior RF engineer to lead the design and integration of high‑performance wireless subsystems for compact, battery‑powered and vehicular products such as body‑worn cameras and in‑vehicle systems. You will own the RF architecture from concept through mass production, ensuring robust performance in demanding public‑safety environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead RF design and integration of wireless subsystems, including chip‑down RF circuitry for LTE, 5G, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and GNSS.
• Partner with antenna engineers to select and integrate printed, PCB or metal antenna solutions.
• Perform RF debugging, interference mitigation, receiver desense analysis and real‑world field testing.
• Drive PCB layout for RF integrity and conduct detailed layout reviews.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (hardware, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, regulatory) to bring products to scale.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience designing, integrating and optimizing wireless RF solutions for battery‑powered or vehicular embedded products.
• Proven track record leading RF design and integration activities for multi‑transceiver systems.
• Strong documentation, communication and technical presentation skills.

Required skills

• LTE, 5G, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS technologies.
• RF circuit design, impedance matching, antenna integration.
• PCB layout and RF integrity verification.
• RF debugging, interference analysis, receiver desense mitigation.
• Use of Cadence/OrCAD for schematic capture.
• Operation of spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, RF test chambers.
• Knowledge of 3GPP, FCC, ETSI certification processes.
