Senior Project Designer - Formwork Solutions

About the role

Doka Romania, part of the Umdasch Group, is building the Engineering Service Center EU Romania, a new engineering hub providing design and technical support to Doka organizations across Europe. It is recruiting Senior Project Designers to design formwork and shoring solutions for complex construction projects. The Senior Project Designer acts as a technical expert for complex projects, reviews deliverables under the "4-Eyes Principle" and mentors junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design formwork and shoring solutions for international projects and prepare technical drawings and 3D models, preferably in Revit.
• Analyze project documentation, prepare material lists and technical project documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements.
• Optimize designs for cost, material quantities and equipment use.
• Support local subsidiaries, take part in customer and internal meetings and share best practices with international teams.
• Review engineering deliverables, mentor junior engineers, support onboarding and training, and contribute to quality, process improvement and engineering standardization.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar.
• 5+ years of engineering/design experience.
• Advanced knowledge of formwork, temporary works or construction engineering.
• Experience reviewing designs and guiding junior engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, advanced English, and comfort in an international environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Preferred: Microsoft Office Suite, construction mechanics, statics, reading structural and reinforcement drawings, BIM environments.
• Knowledge of Doka Formwork Systems is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
