Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

Marsh is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join its Technology business in Cluj-Napoca. This hybrid position requires at least three days a week in the office and focuses on building secure, resilient, and scalable platform capabilities for product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve platform capabilities that support secure, cloud‑native software delivery across on‑premises and public cloud environments.
• Automate deployments, integrations, and infrastructure provisioning using GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Argo CD and Terraform.
• Deploy, support, and enhance Kubernetes‑based platforms, providing self‑service environments and standardized tooling.
• Troubleshoot platform and application issues, provide Level III support, and participate in a 24 × 7 on‑call rotation.
• Partner with engineering, security, and operations teams to drive architecture decisions and modernization initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, container delivery, and platform tooling (Argo CD, Crossplane, Terraform, GitOps).
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI) and cloud infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Go, Python, and JavaScript/Node.js, plus Bash, Linux, and Windows tooling.
• Understanding of REST APIs, networking, observability, incident response, and modern engineering platforms (Azure DevOps or GitHub).
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
