Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Coface, a global trade credit insurer with 5,200 experts across 58 countries, is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for its platform team in Bucharest. This is a hybrid role focused on building a golden path for adding microservices, improving automation and reliability, and running the platform for 8+ development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build the golden path that lets new microservices be added quickly
• Improve existing automations (pipelines, IaC) so releases are more frequent and confident, and migrate legacy pipelines
• Enhance the developer workstation and build an agentic platform with AI capabilities for clients
• Improve dashboarding and alerting with Instana and Grafana, and reduce toil by automating responses to recurring requests
• Run the platform: shared incident response, component maintenance and day-to-day support for 8+ development teams

Required profile

• 5+ years in DevOps, platform or SRE roles, including real production ownership
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge: scheduling, resource requests and limits, probes, disruption budgets, security contexts, ingress, and debugging failing rollouts
• Experience designing charts others depend on, or building Kustomize bases and overlays
• CI/CD pipeline engineering at scale, with shared, versioned pipeline abstractions; GitLab CI strongly preferred
• Observability fundamentals: metrics, logs and traces, troubleshooting misbehaving apps
• Git and code review discipline, trunk-adjacent branching, conventional commits

Required skills

• Helm and Kustomize
• Docker image authoring: multi-stage builds, small non-root images, build caching, registries
• Infrastructure as code: Terraform and Ansible roles and modules
• Automation in Python, Bash or other languages, clean and tested
• Strongly desirable: HashiCorp Vault, Prometheus and Grafana authoring, supply-chain security (SBOM), Kafka operations, Jenkins pipelines, Java / Spring Boot and Angular delivery support, SLIs/SLOs and alerting strategies
