.NET Backend Engineer – InReach (2 positions)

About the role

Garmin is looking for experienced .NET Software Engineers to join the InReach team, focusing on backend development for the satellite‑connected messaging platform. The role is hybrid, with occasional remote work, and contributes to life‑saving technology used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and build web applications and services that are core to Garmin’s InReach ecosystem.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: technical design, implementation, estimation, documentation, testing, deployment and support.
• Collaborate with cross‑segment teams to gather requirements and deliver new features or improvements.
• Work with a diverse tech stack including .NET.NET Core, SQL databases, Azure Event Hubs/Kafka, Azure Service Bus, Amazon SQS, Web APIs, OAuth, and various Azure/AWS services.
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and CI/CD using TeamCity and Octopus.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in object‑oriented development.
• Strong knowledge of C#.NET/.NET Core, Web API, Azure services, micro‑services, MSSQL, Entity Framework/Core, asynchronous programming and design patterns.
• Proficiency in English.
