Manufacturing Engineer with Design Knowledge

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer with Design Knowledge acts as the central technical contact and digital integrator between engineering and manufacturing at Airbus Aerostructures in Brasov. You will consolidate design, DMU, FEM and manufacturing competencies to optimise the digital process chain and deliver a manufacturing‑ready database.

Key responsibilities

• Create, validate and manage the complete manufacturing‑relevant database (parts, assemblies, tools, manufacturing data) to ensure data consistency across the product lifecycle.
• Optimise model data for manufacturing readiness, increasing process reliability and reducing manual corrections for downstream departments.
• Establish a validated, process‑optimised database that supports series efficiency and stable deployment of automation systems in the plant.

Required profile

• Design for Manufacturing competence with CATIA V5 and experience in metallic and composite assembly.
• Knowledge of PLM/ERP systems (VPM, PASS, SAP) and experience in change management for digital integration.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis (FEM) and programming skills for process automation.
• Technical coordination of external engineering suppliers, monitoring delivery quality and integrating supplier data.
• Availability for mandatory training and travel in Germany.
