GenAI/ML Expert (f/m/x)

About the role

Deutsche Bank's Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) is looking for a GenAI/ML Expert to join its Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) team. The AFC team protects the bank from financial and reputational losses caused by financial crimes, covering anti-money laundering, sanctions and embargoes, anti-bribery and corruption, and anti-fraud and investigations. The role sits within a development team focused on agentic development and big data.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the team to understand requirements, analyse and refine user stories, design, implement, test and support solutions in production.
• Develop and deploy big data anti-fraud detection solutions and models using Python and PySpark, and learn to improve them with machine learning algorithms.
• Write clean, test-driven code, refactor constantly, and design understandable server-side code.
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, developers and testers to build the right thing, and define and evolve component architectures.
• Build reliable, maintainable software and help the team build, test and release software with short lead times.
• Help build an automated Continuous Delivery pipeline and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience in data engineering and big data, and in Python and data analytics (5-7+ years).
• Experience with databases and performance tuning (7+ years) and with Google Cloud Platform and modern data platforms (3-5+ years).
• 2-3+ years of experience with AI, GenAI and agentic AI, including LLMs, AI agents, RAG, tool/function calling, prompt engineering, agent orchestration and evaluation/guardrails.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and workflows while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
• Engineering, DevOps and automation experience (5+ years) and Agile/Scrum delivery experience (5+ years).
