Freelance ETS/EHS Auditor – Romania

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified professional to conduct environmental, health, and safety audits at client facilities in Romania. The freelance auditor will assess regulatory compliance, identify non‑conformities and draft detailed technical reports while operating autonomously and maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive ETS/EHSMS audits at client sites, evaluating compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ATEX, PED, Machinery Directive and Romanian regulations.
• Perform technical inspections of construction sites, oil & gas plants, and energy facilities (wind, solar, biomass, combined cycle) to identify risks and non‑conformities.
• Prepare professional audit reports highlighting non‑conformities and corrective actions in line with Bureau Veritas standards.
• Analyze compliance with international and local health, safety and environmental legislation and manage audit documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, Bureau Veritas teams, local authorities and technical partners, and provide technical assistance for EHS management system implementation.

Required profile

• 5‑7+ years of experience in EHS/ETS auditing, with at least 3 years in ETS audits for international organisations.
• Fluent in Romanian and English.
• Ability to work independently on call‑based activations according to shared planning.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ATEX, PED, Machinery Directive.
• Familiarity with Romanian health, safety and environmental legislation.
