Expert Wireless Production Testing

About the role

HARMAN is looking for an R&D Test Expert with a focus on production testing within its Short Range Devices (SRD) team in the SBU Connectivity business unit. The team is split between Karlsbad (Germany) and Bucharest (Romania), and the position is based in Bucharest. You will support the development and deployment of robust test solutions across the product lifecycle, acting as a key link between R&D validation and production, and report to a manager in Karlsbad.

Key responsibilities

• Support R&D testing activities, including validation of prototypes and new product designs
• Develop and implement production test concepts and strategies
• Learn and improve testing methodologies under the guidance of an experienced test expert, gradually taking ownership of test activities
• Perform measurements, debugging and analysis in both R&D and production environments
• Analyze and troubleshoot test failures, with a focus on production-related issues
• Support the transfer of test solutions from R&D into production
• Collaborate with R&D, quality and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and test efficiency
• Contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Create and maintain test documentation, specifications and reports
• Drive continuous improvement of production test processes and coverage

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related field; open to recent graduates who will be mentored
• Academic interest in electronics and hardware systems, measurement and test engineering, signal analysis and debugging, embedded systems or system validation
• Initial practical experience through internships, lab work or student projects, ideally with testing or validation exposure, is a plus
• Working knowledge of English; willingness to travel if necessary; valid driver's license

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generators)
• Understanding of production testing principles: test coverage, repeatability and robustness of test setups
• Familiarity with test automation or scripting (e.g. Python, Matlab, LabVIEW)
• Ability to read technical documentation, test specifications and procedures
• Bonus: experience collaborating with teams in different geographies
