DevOps Team Lead

About the role

Cross Border Talents is recruiting a DevOps Team Lead for its client, a fast-growing non-profit social enterprise with offices across Europe and Africa that builds digital platforms supporting young women. The client describes a fast-paced, informal and friendly environment. Candidates must be based in Portugal or South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the DevOps team's tasks with the other teams and projects
• Ensure the infrastructure is secure, covering information security and personal data protection
• Lead and develop team members as well as yourself
• Document your work so it is clear for future use
• Work in an agile way
• Build, configure and maintain the framework used by the client's software, including automating its creation, maintenance and monitoring
• Set up, test and maintain the tool frameworks that support software development and launch
• Optimize the flow of work from build to release

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a DevOps engineer
• Experience managing a team of DevOps engineers is a plus
• Currently based in Portugal or South Africa
• Fluent in English

Required skills

• Previous experience with cloud tools such as AWS, RDS, EC2 and SQS
• Previous experience with Kubernetes container orchestration (K8s within the AWS ecosystem)
• Experience with Terraform, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana and GitHub Actions is a plus
