Data Analyst - Analytics, Retail Banking

About the role

ING Bank Romania is hiring a Data Analyst within its Analytics team in Retail Banking. The team turns complex data into clear, actionable insights and works closely with business stakeholders, Analytics peers and the Pricing & Value Leads on advanced analytics initiatives. The analyst works in an Agile way of working, as part of a Squad.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, prepare and analyse large datasets to support business strategy across customer, marketing and digital channels.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and analytical datasets, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Work with stakeholders and senior analysts on segmentation, campaign analysis and product evaluation.
• Coach and mentor junior analysts and act as main contact for cross-functional projects, keeping definitions, data structures and objectives aligned.
• Run deep-dive analyses to find business drivers and recommend actions that improve customer understanding and optimise campaigns.
• Document dashboards, metrics and models, run regular quality checks and support the reuse of scripts and methodologies.
• Help develop advanced analytical frameworks with Data Scientists and Data Engineers.

Required profile

• University degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Cybernetics or a related field.
• Solid experience in data analysis, ideally in banking or financial services.
• Able to interpret complex data, spot trends and turn it into actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain technical insights to non-technical audiences.
• Continuous learner who embraces new tools and seeks innovative solutions.

Required skills

• Data tools such as SAS, SQL and Python.
• BI platforms (Power BI).
• Experience creating dashboards, campaign and product analyses and data validation.
