Customer Buyer (m/f/d)

About the role

Variosystems develops and manufactures electronic solutions for industries such as Medtech & Life Science, Industrial & Automation, Aerospace & Defence and Smart Infrastructure & Environment. The Customer Buyer is responsible for strategically managing the supply chain throughout the lifecycle of an assigned customer program, covering supplier selection, material cost and kit availability.

Key responsibilities

• Project sourcing: provide material cost calculations, select suppliers, define the supply chain setup, set order quantities for critical components, drive price benchmarks, place purchase orders and expedite deliveries, including pull-in, push-out and cancellations, recorded in SAP.
• Material cost management: deliver benchmark costs for winning or defending business, generate cost reductions, negotiate prices and explore alternative sources.
• Supply chain management: advise customers on optimal supply chains and sourcing strategies, and cover all assigned customer materials including after-sales.
• Supplier management: use the preferred supplier portfolio, negotiate prices, qualify new suppliers with Quality Assurance and Global Procurement.
• Master data maintenance: maintain purchasing conditions, packaging and lead times in SAP for critical components, and move less critical components to Factory Procurement via workflow.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Proven track record in a similar position.
• Advanced or intermediate English.
• Sourcing, negotiation and persuasion skills, and project and quality management (PPAP).

Required skills

• SAP knowledge in this field of expertise.
• MS Office package.
• Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
