Windchill PLM Business Functional Designer

About the role

We are seeking a Windchill PLM Business Functional Designer to join Accenture Industry X’s Engineering Digitization & PLM team. The role will bridge business needs and PTC Windchill solution design, supporting PLM transformation projects in complex engineering and manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support business workshops, requirement validation sessions and design play‑backs with client SMEs and stakeholders.
• Analyse existing PLM, engineering, manufacturing, document management, CAD, BOM and change management processes.
• Define future‑state Windchill processes, including roles, access, lifecycles, workflows, object behavior and business rules.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, SAP, MES and CAD teams to ensure scalable and maintainable configurations.
• Support integration topics across CAD, SAP ERP, MES, quality, supplier and regulatory systems.
• Contribute to system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect clarification, training, cut‑over readiness and hyper‑care activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in PLM consulting, business analysis, functional design or enterprise application implementation.
• Proven experience with PTC Windchill functional areas such as document management, part management, EBOM, change management, access control, lifecycles and workflows.
• Strong ability to convert business requirements into clear functional design documents and configuration inputs.
• Good understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes, including CAD, BOM, change management and downstream system impacts.
