Technical/Team Lead Software Engineer – Java Marine Cloud

About the role

Garmin is seeking a Technical/Team Lead to drive the vision and delivery of its Marine Cloud platform. You will mentor a team of Java backend engineers, shape architecture, and ensure high‑quality integration of marine navigation services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate software development activities for the Marine Cloud team.
• Design, implement, and maintain APIs supporting multiple business segments.
• Conduct architectural and design reviews and enforce best‑practice standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver reliable micro‑service solutions.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience leading teams of 4+ engineers.
• Proven ability to evaluate performance, set SMART objectives, and mentor career development.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and time‑management skills.
