Software Internship – Systems Engineering

About the role

This part‑time student internship in Bucharest offers hands‑on experience with NXP’s i.MX processors and embedded solutions. You will work alongside seasoned systems and software engineers on real‑world projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and debug embedded software applications on NXP processor platforms, including Linux, Android, and RTOS environments.
• Assist with board bring‑up, hardware/software integration, and validation testing on development boards.
• Create proof‑of‑concept demos, automation tools, and reference applications showcasing AI, multimedia, and connectivity technologies.
• Document software, validation results, and user guides; collaborate with global engineering teams.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related fields.
• Availability to work part‑time while continuing university studies.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and English communication skills.

Required skills

• Programming in C and C++.
• Basic understanding of embedded systems and computer architecture.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Version control using Git.
• Knowledge of ARM‑based processors, device drivers, and communication protocols (UART, I²C, SPI, USB, CAN, Ethernet).
