Senior SAS Developer

About the role

Join Luxoft's Development Centre in Bucharest as a Senior SAS Developer, working on projects for a world‑famous client in a regulated banking environment. You will be involved across the full solution lifecycle, from requirements clarification to production support.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance and maintain SAS applications, batch processes, ETL workflows, data marts and reporting components.
• Translate business and reporting requirements into robust technical designs and maintain clear documentation.
• Develop and optimise SAS programs using SAS Base / SAS 9.x, SAS Data Integration Studio and SAS Enterprise Guide.
• Integrate, transform and validate data from relational databases using SAS and SQL.
• Investigate data‑quality and performance issues, provide fixes and support controlled releases.
• Provide production support for SAS jobs and reporting flows, including incident analysis and problem management.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, application support, database and infrastructure teams.
• Participate in Agile planning, estimation, peer reviews and delivery governance.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with SAS Base / SAS 9.x and SAS Data Integration Studio / Enterprise Guide.
• Solid SQL and data‑warehousing expertise, preferably in a banking or similarly regulated environment.
• Ability to work on‑site three days a week and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
