Senior Internal Auditor – German language

About the role

PwC Romania’s Assurance practice is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor with strong German language skills to join the Risk Assurance Services team in Bucharest. The role involves leading internal audit assignments and supporting risk assurance projects for a diverse client base. You will report to senior management and have opportunities to develop technical and leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in internal audit and internal controls projects, covering design and operating effectiveness of business process controls and coordinating junior staff.
• Contribute to compliance and operational process projects for selected clients.
• Support IT governance and control projects with focus on information security, system availability, and continuity of IT services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and established clients.
• Work collaboratively with client and specialist staff to deliver high‑quality services.
• Provide on‑site coordination for audit engagements, including coaching and training junior staff.
• Supervise teams and report directly to senior staff.

Required profile

• University degree.
• 2–3 years of experience in financial audit, internal audit or consultancy.
• ACCA, CIA, CISA or similar certification (qualified or in progress).
• Strong English and German language proficiency.
• Excellent communication, analytical and organisational abilities.
• Proven project management and team‑leadership experience.
• Desire for continuous improvement and client‑facing responsibilities.
• Knowledge of accounting, finance, financial statements, IT audit and SOX compliance is a plus.
