Senior Auditor – State Aid & EU Funds

About the role

PwC Romania’s Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) practice is seeking a Senior Auditor to join its State Aid & EU Funds Assurance team in Bucharest. The role involves leading audit assignments related to European Union and Romanian authority‑funded projects, working under manager supervision and collaborating with international teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform audit assignments on thematic areas funded by the EU or Romanian authorities.
• Prepare audit field work, define risk‑based audit strategy and set up audit programmes.
• Maintain daily contact with clients and auditees, ensuring clear communication.
• Work cross‑border with teams in different time zones using digital audit tools.
• Draft and submit audit reports, monitoring deadlines and deliverables.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Finance or Accountancy.
• 2‑4 years of experience in financial audit, consultancy or accounting services.
• Audit certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• Fluent English; additional languages are an asset.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of audit methodology and risk‑based audit planning.
• Proficiency with digital audit tools.
