Senior AI Data Engineering Consultant – Microsoft Azure

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Consultant specialized in AI‑focused data engineering to help our clients build modern, Azure‑based data platforms. You will work on end‑to‑end solutions that enable analytics, generative AI and self‑service insights across diverse industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement modern data platforms, lakehouse architectures, data pipelines and semantic data models supporting analytics, AI and GenAI use cases.
• Bridge Data Engineering and AI Engineering, with emphasis on Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), Conversational BI and LLM‑based applications.
• Develop AI agents and agentic components to automate pipeline development, data quality, monitoring and self‑service analytics.
• Leverage Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake and dbt to build scalable solutions.
• Define end‑to‑end architectures covering data ingestion, transformation, governance, quality assurance and consumption.
• Advise clients on technology selection, migration strategies, platform modernization and AI integration.
• Own workstreams or projects, ensuring technical excellence and measurable business value.
• Contribute to reusable assets, best practices and innovation initiatives within the Data & AI portfolio.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data engineering, cloud data platforms or Data & AI consulting, preferably in a project‑based environment.
• Hands‑on expertise designing data pipelines, lakehouse or cloud data‑warehouse solutions.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python or PySpark, with experience in ETL/ELT, APIs, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
• Solid knowledge of Azure ecosystem and modern platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake and dbt.
• Understanding of how data platforms enable AI, Generative AI and advanced analytics; experience with LLM, RAG or MLOps is a plus.
• Architectural mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
