NPU Compiler Software Engineer

About the role

Join NXP's innovative team to design, develop, test, debug and optimise compiler technology for the company's Neural Processing Unit (NPU) hardware. You will work closely with hardware and systems engineering teams to enhance performance, robustness and usability of the software stack.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise a proprietary neural network compiler for the Neutron NPU.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve software stack performance and reliability.
• Provide technical support to customers and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards such as MISRA C/C++, CERT, HIS and ASPICE.
• Utilise agentic AI tools in day‑to‑day development activities.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Basic knowledge of compiler technologies and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficient in C, C++ and Python.
• Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns and embedded Linux development.
• Understanding of machine‑learning concepts (CNN, Conv2D, quantisation, etc.) and signal‑processing algorithms.
• Familiarity with LLVM/MLIR, deep‑learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch) and version‑control tools (Git).
