Junior Java Developer – Data Integration

About the role

EveryMatrix is looking for a Junior Java Developer to join the OddsMatrix Data Ops team in Bucharest. You will focus on data integration through API consumption and web‑scraping, mastering data extraction, reverse‑engineering, and creative problem‑solving.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java 21 applications that retrieve data from external APIs or via web‑scraping.
• Reverse‑engineer websites to extract structured data for internal use.
• Monitor dashboards such as Grafana and Kibana to ensure data quality and system uptime.
• Build internal tools that improve data collection, processing, and operational efficiency.
• Take ownership of tasks while receiving guidance from senior developers.
• Participate in a structured development path with mentoring and peer collaboration.

Required profile

• Solid fundamentals in Java, object‑oriented programming, data structures and basic algorithms.
• Good understanding of HTTP protocols and how web services deliver data.
• Ability to read and apply technical documentation and ask for help when needed.
• Curious, analytical mindset with a drive to solve problems independently.
• Willingness to research, experiment and learn new technologies.
• Clear communication skills and effective teamwork.
• Proficient written and spoken English.
