General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Huawei Europe is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join its finance team in Bucharest. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across European subsidiaries while operating in a highly automated accounting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement accounting processes aligned with local compliance and business operations.
• Perform regular accounting, reporting, and analysis in accordance with local standards and tax regulations.
• Manage VAT, WHT, and CIT accounting and analysis.
• Ensure accounting treatment and reporting comply with IFRS and local GAAP.
• Execute month‑end closing, reconciliations, and external compliance analysis.
• Support internal and external audits of financial statements.
• Prepare financial reports and deliver value‑added analysis to stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements within an automated accounting system.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, finance partners, and external auditors.
• Promote best practices and provide guidance on accounting standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, audit or revenue; experience as a General Ledger Accountant is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, tax processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience with highly automated accounting systems; low‑manual environments preferred.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Proficient reading and writing in English.
