Embedded C Software Engineer – Aviation

About the role

Garmin is seeking Embedded C Software Engineers to develop software for its avionics portfolio, including next‑generation flight displays and the AXIS system. The role involves designing, implementing, and validating features for primary and multifunction flight displays, engine indication systems, and integrated cockpit applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded C code for OEM and retrofit avionics products.
• Collaborate with product teams to integrate new features and technologies into flight display platforms.
• Validate new functionalities on advanced touchscreen flight displays and ensure reliable operation.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of relevant experience in embedded software development.
• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical field.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Required skills

• Strong programming skills in C and low‑level programming.
• Experience with configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, simulators and static code analysis tools.
• Knowledge of Python 3 and C++ is a plus.
• Familiarity with safety‑critical development standards such as DO‑178B is advantageous.
