Design Engineer

About the role

Join Airbus Aerostructures in Brasov as a Design Engineer, where you will contribute to the creation of lightweight, high‑performance metallic, composite and hybrid components for aerospace applications. Key responsibilities

• Develop the design of metallic, composite and hybrid components and assemblies optimized for weight, cost, performance and manufacturability.
• Evaluate design changes, estimate implementation effort and ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations and internal design standards.
• Monitor and support engineering subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
• Support end‑to‑end configuration items from concept studies through definition dossier release to MOD closure.
• Propose and implement improvements and innovations in digitalisation and automation.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Aerospace or a comparable field.
• Experience in digitalisation and automation within an engineering context.
• Strong understanding of metal, composite and hybrid design principles, manufacturing and assembly processes, including tolerance principles.
• Hands‑on mentality, open and curious mindset, and experience working in an agile environment.
• Team player, resilient, structured, independent and analytical, with willingness to travel.
