Data Engineer – Bucharest

About the role

Infosys is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain modern, scalable data platforms for its Telecom B2B clients. The role focuses on creating robust data pipelines and analytics solutions on AWS, enabling real‑time and batch insights for business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and enterprise data platforms.
• Build and optimise data warehouses, data lakes and lakehouse architectures.
• Develop batch and real‑time processing solutions to support analytics and reporting.
• Implement ETL/ELT workflows for large‑scale data integration.
• Collaborate with business, analytics and engineering teams to deliver data‑driven solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance, performance optimisation and platform reliability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve platform efficiency and scalability.

Required profile

• Strong experience with AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, S3 and EKS.
• Knowledge of cloud‑native architecture and distributed data platforms.
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem, data lakes and lakehouse solutions.
• Hands‑on expertise with Apache Spark, Trino, Apache Superset and Apache Airflow.
• Proven ability to build and optimise large‑scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Scala, SQL, DBT and shell scripting.
• Experience with Kafka‑based streaming and real‑time analytics.
• Domain experience in Telecom B2B is preferred.
