Compliance Officer (Bucharest)

About the role

Huawei Europe is seeking a Compliance Officer to join its Bucharest team. The role focuses on identifying and mitigating compliance risks across business and sales projects, ensuring adherence to anti‑bribery, competition, financial and trade regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractual terms and business arrangements to spot potential compliance risks and propose practical recommendations.
• Conduct compliance assessments for projects, emphasizing anti‑bribery, conflicts of interest, and improper business conduct.
• Support monitoring activities, inspections and risk assessments to uncover control weaknesses.
• Assist in preparing training materials, case studies and awareness initiatives.
• Help plan and deliver compliance training and communication programs.
• Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures and governance documentation.
• Coordinate compliance‑related meetings, monitor action plans and follow up on outstanding matters.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a strong ethics and compliance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in compliance, legal, internal control, audit, risk management or a similar discipline.
• Strong understanding of compliance risk management principles and assessment methodologies.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
• Fluent in English and Romanian, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Knowledge of anti‑bribery & corruption, competition law, financial compliance, trade compliance and third‑party compliance management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
