Backend Software Engineer

About the role

As a Backend Software Engineer at Alchemy, you will work on one of the most sophisticated, high‑throughput distributed systems in the blockchain ecosystem. You will have autonomy to design, build, and own services that support millions of global users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend infrastructure, APIs, and services at scale.
• Own the architecture and implementation of distributed, low‑latency, high‑volume systems.
• Solve scalability, latency, and performance challenges in production.
• Lead system‑design discussions and set best practices for reliability and throughput.
• Validate performance through automated testing, benchmarking, and production‑driven improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of industry experience building core backend components.
• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to solve complex design, scalability, and performance problems in high‑throughput systems.
• Self‑starter attitude with ownership mindset and curiosity for emerging technologies.

• Kubernetes (experience with Amazon EKS is a plus)
