Android Software Engineer – Garmin Connect Team

About the role

Garmin is looking for an experienced Android Software Engineer to join the Connect team in Cluj-Napoca. You will work on Garmin Connect Mobile, a high‑traffic fitness and outdoor companion app used by millions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Create and execute designs for software components within larger projects.
• Mentor less‑experienced engineers and participate in peer code reviews.
• Estimate effort, evaluate technology options and suggest process improvements.
• Perform technical root‑cause analysis and define corrective actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of Android development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Android architecture components (ViewModel, StateFlow/LiveData, Room) and architectural patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Proficiency in Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, dependency injection, background processing (WorkManager, foreground services) and Bluetooth/BLE APIs.
