Accountant – GAAP to STAT Conversions (Cluj)

About the role

PwC’s Alternative Delivery Model team in Cluj is seeking an Accountant to support Western‑European client accounting services. The role focuses on GAAP‑to‑STAT conversions, statutory financial statement preparation and a range of tax‑compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and convert GAAP financial data to STAT format, including statutory statements under local GAAP.
• Use Workiva as the primary tool for reporting and financial statement preparation.
• Provide accounting support for client engagements – journal entries, month‑end closing, financial reporting and VAT‑related processes.
• Perform ad‑hoc accounting analyses, account reconciliations and maintain project documentation.
• Manage administrative tasks for SFS projects and ensure smooth project execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with client management and internal service lines.
• Identify performance improvement opportunities and share knowledge with the team.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting and tax compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on execution.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High adaptability and eagerness to learn new topics.
