Software Engineer w/ AI-Native Engineering

About the role

Marsh Technology, part of Marsh's people and investments business, is looking for a Software Engineer to join its team in Cluj-Napoca. The role sits in an AI-native engineering environment where AI is embedded across the software delivery lifecycle and used as a core engineering capability. It is a hybrid position with at least three days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Use AI across design, implementation, testing, debugging and code review, giving it clear specifications and constraints, and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs with engineering judgment
• Take ownership of technical quality, reviewing AI-generated code, verifying solutions through analysis, testing and quality controls, and ensuring they meet agreed standards and architectural principles
• Address security, maintainability, performance and reliability, and deliver production-ready software
• Work closely with the Solution Analyst and other engineers, resolving ambiguity early and validating delivered functionality against specifications
• Improve how AI is used to raise engineering effectiveness, quality and delivery speed, and share learning across the team

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, testing and maintaining production software in enterprise environments
• Good understanding of application architecture, APIs, data structures, data modeling and integration patterns
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills, and independent decision-making within architectural guardrails
• Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and the ability to review and improve AI-generated solutions
• Strong collaboration, communication skills and learning agility

• Azure DevOps, source control, CI/CD and automated testing
• Security, performance, reliability and observability awareness
• Nice to have: Python, experience with internal tools or automation frameworks, exposure to AI copilots or workflow automation
