Senior Specialist Payroll Governance & Long-Term Incentives

About the role

BASF Agricultural Solutions is preparing to become an independent, pure-play agricultural company within the BASF group and is recruiting for new corporate roles. This Senior Specialist position acts as the key interface between Senior Executives, external payroll providers, Finance, Tax, Legal and other stakeholders, ensuring effective payroll governance, strong internal controls and accurate, compliant payroll processes. The role can be performed part-time (80%) or full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the governance of external payroll providers, coordinate payroll audits and validate payroll-relevant transactions and controls
• Support complex and exceptional payroll cases
• Coordinate and calculate global Long-Term Incentive provisions, including participant-level calculations, fair market value assessments and share price considerations
• Work with Finance, Controlling, Strategy and country organizations to set assumptions and targets, and provide provision data to local Controllers for booking and reporting
• Prepare analyses, reports and documentation for external audits, annual compensation reporting and executive remuneration inquiries
• Ensure data quality and regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement of payroll governance and Long-Term Incentive processes

Required profile

• University degree in business administration, finance, human resources, accounting or a comparable field
• Several years of professional experience in payroll, compensation and benefits, finance operations or a comparable international business environment
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, accrual calculations, executive compensation programs and governance requirements
• Excellent English skills

• Proficiency in SAP HR or comparable HR systems
• Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
