Senior QA / QC Engineer - Mobile & Automation

About the role

EC Markets is an FCA-regulated FX and CFD brokerage whose engineering team builds and runs its trading app: a React Native / Expo app on iOS, Android and web, backed by a Java Spring Boot API on AWS. It is looking for a Senior QA / QC Engineer in Bucharest (on-site) to set the quality bar on a fast-moving mobile product, test new features and release candidates, and build and extend test automation in CI/CD.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain mobile UI automation (iOS and Android), API test suites and performance and load tests, run them in CI/CD and embed regression in every sprint.
• Perform functional and exploratory testing, plus smoke and full regression for each release candidate, and provide written evidence for go/no-go decisions.
• Run post-deployment checks, test on real devices across screen sizes, OS versions and manufacturers, and write risk-based test cases and reproducible defects in Jira.
• Track quality measures such as escaped defects and reopen rates, shape acceptance criteria with the Product Owner, support test-environment readiness and test-data management, and coach other QA engineers.

Required profile

• At least 4 years in software QA, including substantial mobile app testing on iOS and Android.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Precise written English for bug reports and release evidence.

Required skills

• Mobile UI automation (Maestro, Appium or Detox) and API testing (REST Assured or similar) in Java or TypeScript.
• Running automated tests in CI/CD pipelines, risk-based test strategy and release sign-off.
• Performance and load testing (k6, JMeter or similar).
• Test management tools and Jira.
• Nice to have: fintech experience, ISTQB certification, cloud and device-farm experience.

What we offer

• Salary of 151,800 to 228,000 RON gross per year, depending on experience.
