Senior Cybersecurity Architect

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space Romania seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Architect to act as the strategic technical authority for critical systems, shaping resilient cyber architectures that support mission‑critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and oversee implementation of system‑wide security software across on‑premise and hybrid environments.
• Lead threat‑modeling sessions during design phases to identify, categorize, and prioritize threats.
• Make key technology and integration decisions for the cybersecurity area.
• Architect and champion Zero Trust frameworks, focusing on advanced Identity and Access Management (IAM) and micro‑segmentation.
• Ensure all architectural designs meet stringent regulatory and industry mandates (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, DCS).
• Act as primary SME, providing guidance to Security Engineers and mentoring junior architects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 7 years in cybersecurity and security architecture.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISSP‑ISSAP are a plus.
• Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, application security and systems integration.
• Knowledge of defence‑domain cybersecurity constraints, NATO or national regulations, and accreditation processes.

Required skills

• Zero Trust Architecture, Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management.
• Threat modeling, OS/DB hardening, PKI, firewalls, proxies, WAF.
• Virtualization security (hypervisors, containers), DCS, Information Exchange Gateway.
• Compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, DCS standards.
