Senior Consultant - Audit

About the role

PwC Romania is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Assurance practice in Bucharest. The role involves delivering audit and non‑audit services to large multinational clients, primarily in the banking and insurance sectors, and may include ESG assurance work or remote collaboration with regional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit and non‑audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Collaborate with seniors or managers on assigned tasks and contribute to overall engagement progress.
• Coordinate and act as the primary reviewer of work performed by shared service centres.
• Support the development and growth of the practice and service operations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, identifying new opportunities.
• Provide strategic insight on potential issues and solutions across diverse audit teams.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and the firm’s value‑creation commitments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years professional experience as a financial auditor.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Ability to produce high‑quality work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus.
• Proven team‑management experience, especially coordinating shared service centres.
• Strong analytical, organisational and self‑motivation skills.
