Personal Financial Counselor - Romania (On-Site)

About the role

Magellan Health is hiring a Personal Financial Counselor for Romania, working on-site at assigned military installations. The counselor delivers the full range of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families, including education, one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings and referrals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
• Help service members establish spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize and deliver Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering topics such as arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment and career events (per DoDI 1322.34).
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Use virtual counseling or other electronic communication tools where authorized.
• Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol and share trends and issues with leadership during supervision.
• Take part in in-services, training, quality improvement committees and other contract activities as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; an associate degree plus 4 years of experience, or a high school diploma plus 6 years, may be considered instead.
• At least 3 years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingualism in English and Spanish required only if the contract requires it.
• Favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and successful completion of the OCI disclosure process.
• Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) certification.

What we offer

• Anticipated base salary range of $58,440 to $93,500, depending on location, skills, experience and education.
