ML/AI Senior Compiler Engineer

About the role

Join NXP's Global Compiler Team to design and implement cutting‑edge AI/ML compiler technologies for embedded processors. You will work on both proprietary and open‑source tools that enable high‑performance inference on automotive SOCs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML compiler features using C++ and LLVM, targeting ARM and RISC‑V cores.
• Collaborate with hardware architects and ML researchers to optimise model lowering, graph‑level passes, and end‑to‑end performance.
• Contribute to NXP‑specific extensions in the compiler framework and support internal tool users worldwide.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with strong exposure to Machine Learning, Edge AI, and Embedded Systems.
• 10+ years of professional experience in compiler technologies (LLVM/MLIR, Clang, optimization pipelines).
• Proven ability to analyse complex compiler codebases and deliver production‑quality solutions.

Required skills

• LLVM, MLIR, LLVM IR, Clang, LLVM Pass Framework
• C++ and Python programming
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, XLA, TVM, TensorRT
• Graph compiler passes, model fusion, tiling, scheduling
• Embedded systems programming and knowledge of CPU architectures (ARM, RISC‑V)
