Head of Data Research

About the role

Data is at the core of everything ComplyAdvantage offers. As Head of Data Research you will lead the research teams that identify, evaluate, and integrate the data sources behind our financial crime prevention platform, setting direction and ensuring alignment with product strategy and regulatory change.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain a global data research strategy aligned with product, market, and regulatory demands, translating it into a prioritized roadmap.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes worldwide and turn that intelligence into concrete data sourcing and coverage decisions.
• Partner with Product and Technology leadership on build‑buy‑partner decisions for key initiatives.
• Lead a team of researchers, team leads and managers, setting objectives, developing capability and forecasting capacity.
• Own team metrics, KPI reporting and ensure data quality through validation and testing processes.
• Support commercial conversations by articulating the value and depth of our data.
• Champion AI adoption across research workflows and represent the company at industry conferences.

Required profile

• Proven data leader with experience setting strategy, prioritising initiatives and delivering results through managers.
• Hands‑on experience with large, complex datasets and evidence‑based decision making.
• Track record of running performance frameworks (KPIs, capacity planning, forecasting).
• Current understanding of AML legislation, global compliance recommendations and ability to translate regulatory change into data requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive presentation skills.
• University degree in Data Science, Economics, Law, International Relations or Political Science; fluency in English.
