Databricks Software Architect

About the role

DXC Luxoft is seeking a senior Databricks Software Architect to lead data‑driven initiatives for automotive customers. The role is fully remote within Romania and involves designing end‑to‑end solutions on the Azure Databricks platform.

Key responsibilities

• Provide architecture guidance and technical leadership across customer projects.
• Design and implement Databricks solutions covering integration, ingestion, transformation, governance, serving, reporting and operations.
• Establish engineering standards such as medallion architecture, CI/CD, IaC, testing, data quality and observability.
• Document architecture through ADRs, design guidelines and conduct design/code reviews.
• Partner with Data Science/AI teams on AI‑powered, LLM‑based solutions and agentic workflows.
• Optimize performance and cost, offering transparent cost guidance to customers.
• Support pre‑sales activities by creating solution concepts, architecture proposals, estimates and technical presentations.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration and self‑discipline.
• Ability to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

Required skills

• Deep hands‑on knowledge of Azure Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Lakeflow, Auto Loader, SQL Warehouses, serverless compute).
• Experience designing and implementing Lakehouse/medallion architecture.
• Proficiency in Databricks SQL and Python.
• Knowledge of Databricks Apps, AI/BI Dashboards, Genie One, Lakebase and Agents.
• Experience delivering AI/ML or LLM‑based solutions on Azure Databricks, including Model Context Protocol.
