Senior Software Installation Engineer

About the role

Siemens Healthineers is looking for a Senior Software Installation Engineer to support its Varian business at customer sites in Romania and neighbouring countries. The role is customer-facing and involves physical installation, network and server setup, and acceptance procedures with customers. It requires readiness to travel 30-40% and to work in challenging conditions, including weekend work across different time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Complete technical service tasks and help plan and manage them
• Install hardware such as Dell racks, servers, robotic autoloaders, tape backup drives, printers and workstations
• Set up LANs, rack cabling and IP addressing
• Install Active Directory, DNS, IIS, MSSQL and databases at customer sites
• Install, configure and troubleshoot Citrix XenApp, and install and upgrade Varian software onsite or remotely
• Install and configure backup software and Juniper firewalls
• Handle customers, perform acceptance procedures and obtain signed documents

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline (e.g. B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc. Comp., MCA, M.Sc. Comp.)
• 3-5 years of experience
• Fluent English and quick learning ability
• Flexible to odd hours and able to work under time pressure
• Willingness to travel 30-40% and work weekends in different time zones

Required skills

• Windows Server and client OS administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, file and print servers, WSUS
• Dell servers, autoloaders, tape drives, HP printers, Juniper firewalls, RAID, cybersecurity basics
• MSSQL Server, RDBMS databases, virtualization (VMware, vCloud, Citrix XenApp)
• Good to have: healthcare IT knowledge, DICOM/HL7, Microsoft certifications, network administration
