Senior IT Manager

About the role

Fieldtrip, a remote‑first network of creative growth agencies, is looking for its first dedicated IT leader. As Senior IT Manager you will design, build and run an end‑to‑end IT function that supports roughly 200 employees across five agencies, enabling secure, scalable operations for a fast‑growing, contractor‑heavy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full IT stack – systems, identity, access, onboarding/offboarding, tooling and vendor relationships.
• Design and implement a BYOD security posture for personal devices, contractors and cross‑border data flows.
• Rationalise the SaaS landscape, eliminate shadow IT and achieve monthly cost savings on platforms such as Figma, Notion, Airtable and Adobe Suite.
• Establish baseline security controls: MFA, SSO, endpoint protection, incident response and a living risk register aligned with NIST CSF or ISO 27001.
• Prepare the organization for SOC 2 Type II and GDPR‑grade governance, including Microsoft 365 configuration and security questionnaire readiness.
• Document processes, create runbooks and translate IT risk into clear, plain‑English communication.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on IT ownership in a remote‑first startup, scale‑up or creative agency.
• Proven experience building an IT function from scratch or significantly restructuring one.
• Deep practical experience securing a distributed, contractor‑heavy workforce (BYOD).
• Strong foundation in identity and access management, especially Azure AD and Google Workspace.
• Builder mindset – you ship systems that run without you.
• Applied knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
• Excellent written communication; documentation is a first‑class deliverable.
